In this advanced class, 25 year Ayurvedic practitioner Ritu Bhalla will guide students in learning the foundation of Ayurvedic history and philosophy. Students will learn Ayurvedic terminology, Panchmahabhutas (the five elements), and the Doshic Theory of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Students will learn a detailed history of Marma points (pressure points), what they are and their importance.
Students will learn the classification of Vital Spots (Marma Points), be introduced to 107 Marma Points and learn their location and significance to restore balance to the body and mind. Students will learn the Vital Spots of the back, head and face and learn applied Marma Point Therapy to these areas, as well as essential oil application to these Marma Points, the mechanism of action of these Marma Points and the importance of Marma Therapy in Ayurveda.
Studies in Ayurveda will add profound healing dimensions that one can use personally every day and that will also be of extreme benefit to clients. It is invaluable knowledge and practice for LMTs, Estheticians, Cosmetologists, LVNs /RNs /MAs, Yoga Instructors, Health Coaches, Fitness Trainers, Social Workers, Nutritionists, Wellness Consultants and many others to incorporate into their practice.
